A man in Odesa took a woman and a child hostage in a multi-storey building. Police had to conduct a special operation. This was reported by the publication "Dumskaya".
It is noted that the incident occurred in a five-story apartment on Ivan and Yuriy Lyp Street. A man, allegedly under the influence of drugs, seized a woman with a 13-year-old child. The residents of the building had to be evacuated.
"According to some reports, the attacker is a military man and he was armed," the article says.
The publication writes that rescuers, police special forces who freed the hostages, representatives of the military law enforcement service (which indirectly confirms the involvement of a military officer in the incident), as well as many police and medics remain at the scene.
