On Thursday, December 21, the Verkhovna Rada passed in the second reading the draft law on the legalization of medical cannabis. There were 248 votes in favor. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The bill does not allow the use of ordinary marijuana, only medicinal marijuana.
Mykhailo Radutskyi, chairman of the Health Committee, said earlier that it could help veterans with PTSD.
The production of cannabis medicines will be strictly controlled. Only legal entities that have obtained the appropriate license and GMP certificate will be able to grow marijuana under round-the-clock video surveillance with access for the National Police.
Each plant will be individually coded to track its transportation.
Medical cannabis-based medicines will be available only with an electronic prescription issued by a doctor.
