The ambassadors of the Baltic countries in Warsaw have expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that Polish carriers are blocking truck traffic on the border with Ukraine. This is reported by ERR.
The publication also notes that the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed repeated appeals to Poland on this issue.
Estonian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Briti Kikas said that the ambassadors of the Baltic countries had held a meeting at the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure, expressing their concern about the situation.
Kikas emphasized that despite respecting the right of truck drivers to express their demands, this has led to difficulties that affect other carriers and create additional difficulties for the Ukrainian economy. Estonia hopes for cooperation between Poland, Ukraine and the European Commission to find a solution.
Kikas also announced her intention to continue efforts to find a solution with the new Polish government. The representative confirmed that Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna had a conversation with former Polish Foreign Minister Johannes Rau, and that the blockade of the Ukrainian border is planned to be discussed during the visit of the new Polish Foreign Minister to Tallinn.
In addition, the issue was discussed at Tsahkna's meeting with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron.
