US Secretary of Defense in Ukraine: Austin will discuss needs and future of Ukrainian Armed Forces

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who arrived in Kyiv on November 20, will hold talks with Ukraine's top leadership on military aid before a new meeting of the Ramstein contact group. This was reported by the Pentagon press service.

According to the Pentagon, they will discuss Ukraine's security needs, as well as a "long-term vision for the future of the Ukrainian Armed Forces."

"The discussions will focus on further strengthening the strategic partnership between the United States and Ukraine, including providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the combat capabilities they need for the winter and to protect the country from future Russian threats," the statement said.

The Pentagon reminded that this week Austin will hold the 17th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format).
