Armenia will join the International Criminal Court on February 1, 2024

Armenia will become a full member of the International Criminal Court on February 1, 2024. This is stated in the statement of the institution on November 17.


"On November 14, 2023, the Republic of Armenia officially deposited the document on ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. The Statute will enter into force for Armenia on February 1, 2024," the statement said.


Armenia will become the 124th state party to accede to the Statute and the 19th state from the Eastern European group to do so.


In addition, the ICC reported that the Armenian side had submitted documents confirming that "Armenia retroactively recognizes the jurisdiction of the court as of May 10, 2021."
