Biden outlined plan for humanitarian pauses in Gaza to help civilians

US President Joe Biden has announced a plan for daily humanitarian pauses that will allow for the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, as well as safe passage for civilians trying to escape the conflict between Israel and Hamas. He said this on Twitter (X).

According to him, the US administration is doing everything in its power to increase humanitarian supplies and assistance, pointing to the trucks of humanitarian aid that have already been successfully delivered to the war-torn region.

He noted that since November 9, two humanitarian crossing points have been opened, which have already allowed thousands of people to reach safety.

"We are also doing everything in our power to increase humanitarian supplies and assistance. Two days ago there were 96 trucks with supplies, and yesterday there were 106 trucks. But we need to see more, and soon. We want at least 150 trucks a day, every day," Biden said.

At the same time, the US President noted that Israel makes its own decisions as it fights an enemy that has settled among the civilian population, endangering innocent Palestinians.

"They (Israel) have an obligation to distinguish between terrorists and civilians and to fully comply with international law... I give you my word: I will continue to stand up for the safety of civilians and focus on increasing aid to alleviate the suffering of people in Gaza," Biden concluded.

Yesterday, we reported that Israel agreed to suspend attacks on the northern part of the Gaza Strip for four hours every day. This was stated by White House National Security Advisor John Kirby.
