According to a statement by Ukraine's Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk, 101 Ukrainian citizens have already received permission to evacuate from the Gaza Strip. In addition, 367 people have agreed to evacuate through Israel, Ukrinform reports.
"The first group of our citizens has received permission to evacuate from Gaza - 101 people and 367 people we invited, who have agreed to evacuate through Israel. The rest are expected to be released on Wednesday," the ambassador said.
The evacuation operation starts today, and the Ukrainian embassy staff is on the border with Egypt and Gaza, waiting for the process to begin.
"Everything is coordinated well so far. I hope that on Thursday we will finish withdrawing everyone," the ambassador said.
In addition to Ukrainians, at the request of the embassy, 51 Moldovan citizens will also be evacuated through the Rafah crossing.
