Russians want to capture Avdiivka Coke Plant - Barabash

Russians are preparing to capture the Avdiivka Coke Plant, said Vitaliy Barabash, head of the city's military administration. He noted that a third wave of Russian offensive on Avdiivka is expected soon.

"In general, they are using everything available. Over the past day, the community was shelled more than 40 times. As for the positions, there are hundreds of casualties, because there is no peace there. Small arms battles do not stop either day or night. The infantry is advancing as long as they don't use equipment, and they are advancing with infantry from both the south and the north. They are trying to surround the city," said the head of the CMA during the telethon.

Barabash added that now the Russians have a new goal - to seize the Avdiivka Coke Plant. According to the head of the CMA, the Ukrainian military realize that the third wave of the Russian offensive will begin any day now, when the soil dries up.

"The city is more or less calm. There were isolated, chaotic hits in the old part of the city, in the central part. In the morning, one massive shelling took place somewhere between 6:05 and 6:40," added Barabash.

Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War also report that Russia plans to seize the Avdiivka Coke Plant.
