Important members of the US Democratic Party, representing the National Muslim Democratic Council in key state elections, have issued a statement saying that if President Biden does not achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip by tonight, they will oppose financial support and votes for his re-election in 2024.


The statement was published by the National Muslim Democratic Council, which includes Democratic Party leaders from crucial states, Reuters reports.


Biden was given until 17:00 Washington time (21:00 Kyiv time).


"Your administration's unconditional support (for Israel - Ed.), including funding and arms, has played a significant role in perpetuating violence that has resulted in civilian casualties and undermined the trust of voters who once trusted you," the statement said.


While US Secretary of State Blinken spoke in Congress and said that "humanitarian pauses" in Gaza should be considered, the White House continues to oppose a complete ceasefire in Gaza.
