Draft law No. 8029 has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, according to which men who are abroad will have to pay 25,000 UAH for each month of their stay to return to Ukraine. The bill was submitted by MP from the "Servant of the People" faction, Heorhiy Mazurash.
It is talking about conscripts who left the country after February 24, 2022. The provision of the article provides for the voluntary payment of such an amount, but at the same time, the draft law provides for the right to enter Ukraine under the conditions specified in this draft, that is, subject to payment of contributions.
This means that men who left without meeting these requirements can enter Ukraine only if they pay a fee.
If they cannot confirm at the border that they have grounds for deferment from military service during mobilization, they must transfer UAH 25,890 to a special account for each month they spent abroad during martial law.
