Erdogan suggested Turkish parliament ratify protocol on Sweden's NATO membership

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has submitted a protocol on Sweden's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance to the parliament for consideration, Dogru Haber reports.

"The protocol on Sweden's accession to NATO was signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and sent to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey," the report said.

As a reminder, Sweden and Finland applied for NATO membership last year after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Finland's membership was confirmed in April, but Sweden's application was delayed by Turkey and Hungary.
