The Gaza Strip says the number of civilians killed by Israeli air strikes has exceeded five thousand. This was announced by Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Kidra, The Guardian reports.
According to him, the number of deaths in the Gaza Strip from Israeli shelling at the moment is 5,087, including 2,055 children, 1,119 women and 217 elderly people. In addition, 15,273 Palestinians have been injured or maimed.
Last night alone, according to the Palestinians, more than 400 people were killed, almost half of them children.
At the same time, the agency claims that most of the dead are residents of the southern part of the Gaza Strip, where Israel has called for the evacuation of residents of the northern half of the enclave.
