At least seven Ukrainians were killed in the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel last weekend. This was announced by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleg Nikolenko.
"The number of dead Ukrainians in Israel has increased to seven. Consuls have established their personal data, are in contact with relatives and are taking measures to repatriate the bodies," he wrote.
In addition, it is known that nine Ukrainians sustained injuries of varying severity. Nine more citizens are reported missing. Our embassy is cooperating with Israeli security services to search for the missing.
Nikolenko also said that more than a thousand Ukrainian citizens have asked for help to leave Israel due to canceled flights.
Thus, diplomats are preparing the first evacuation flight to Romania for October 14. They are also working on organizing additional evacuation flights. Details will be sent to citizens who have provided their information to the Ukrainian embassy in Tel Aviv.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that about 200 more Ukrainians have expressed a desire to evacuate from the Gaza Strip. However, due to the lack of security, the departure is not yet possible.
