Threat of an attack on a plane from Iran: work of the Hamburg airport is suspended

On Monday, Hamburg Airport temporarily suspended its work due to information about a possible threat of an attack on a passenger plane arriving from Tehran, the capital of Iran. This was reported by the NDR television network.

The threatening message was received by the Federal Police via e-mail and specifically concerned a passenger plane flying from Tehran to Hamburg. The plane was carrying 198 passengers and 16 crew members.

The plane is currently being inspected in a safe place, and the passengers were taken to a separate gate to check their luggage.

The Federal Police have deployed a large number of officers to the scene and are taking the possible threat seriously. The fire department is also working at the scene.

Flights have been suspended as a result of the police operation.

According to the airport, there have been no departures or arrivals since 12:40.

"Due to the actions of the federal police, departures and arrivals have been suspended for a short time. Please follow the status of your flight," the airport said.
