Turkish cargo ship hits mine off the coast of Romania

A Turkish cargo ship exploded on a mine in the Black Sea. This was reported by Reuters.


Yesterday at about 9:20 GMT (12:20 Kyiv time), 11 nautical miles north of the city of Sulina, at the entrance to the Sulina Canal, a cargo ship hit a mine. 


According to the agency, the Turkish cargo ship sustained minor damage, the crew was not injured.


The ship anchored in the Danube Delta near the Ukrainian terminal of Vylkove.


A source in the Ukrainian government confirmed the incident to journalists. It could have been either a mine from World War II or a mine from the Russian-Ukrainian war.
