IMF: Ukraine should adopt a law on financial monitoring of politically exposed persons and resume tax audits

The International Monetary Fund expects Ukraine to adopt laws on financial monitoring of politically exposed persons (PEPs) and the resumption of tax audits. This was stated by the head of the Fund's mission in Ukraine, Gavin Gray, at a press conference in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

He emphasized that these steps are key and are expected in the coming weeks.

It should be noted that in June, the parliament supported the resumption of inspections in a limited format, and in September, the bill on financial monitoring of politically exposed persons was adopted.

Gray also expressed satisfaction with the resumption of electronic declaration of officials and amendments to the Budget Code.

"There are a number of measures that we will consider in the second review, mainly in the areas of public administration, anti-corruption and fiscal policy," Gray said.
