The long discussions about providing Ukraine with Taurus long-range cruise missiles allow Russia to prepare and strengthen its defense to some extent. This was stated by the head of the Bundestag Defense Committee, Agness Struck-Zimmermann, on the Welt TV channel.
She expressed outrage that the ongoing debate allows Russia to prepare for the possible use of Taurus cruise missiles by Ukraine.
She also expressed her hope that during the UN General Assembly some developments could take place on this issue and the transfer of long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine.
The head of the Defense Committee reminded that the issue of transferring such weapons to Ukraine has been under consideration since April and emphasized the importance of providing the country with these weapons to protect its territories.
The deputy also emphasized that "international law allows Russian positions from which missile attacks on Ukraine are launched to be struck on Russian territory." She called on Europe to do more to support Ukraine.
