SBU conducts searches at Nestor Shufrych's place (UPDATED)

The Security Service of Ukraine is conducting a search at the home of Nestor Shufrych, a People's Deputy of the "Platform for Life and Peace" group and chairman of the parliamentary committee on freedom of speech.

According to sources of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, Shufrych is suspected of treason. According to the source, the People's Deputy actively cooperated with former People's Deputy Volodymyr Sivkovych. The latter, while in his Moscow office, "coordinated the actions of Russian agents in Ukraine." Among them was Kulinich, the former head of the Crimean SBU, who was detained last year.

"Obviously, on the instructions of Sivkovich, Shufrych was one of the Kremlin's mouthpieces in Ukraine," the source said.
