ICC expands its presence: field office was opened in Kyiv

The International Criminal Court field office, the largest ICC office outside The Hague, has started working in Kyiv. This was reported by the press service of the Office of Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin and ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan.

"This is a new chapter in our cooperation. The work of the office will help strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and the International Criminal Court. It will increase the efficiency and promptness of response to the crimes that Russia continues to commit against Ukraine and Ukrainians on a daily basis," Kostin said.

The main goal of the office is to increase the efficiency and promptness of the response to crimes committed by Russia against Ukraine and its citizens.

PGO reports that the International Criminal Court's field office in Ukraine is the largest representation of the ICC outside The Hague.

"What we see in terms of the ICC's partnership with Ukraine, building partnerships with civil society, with other UN member states, state and non-state parties to the ICC is not just a spark. It is the dawn of a new time in which we must, and we are, showing endurance and perseverance so that our words are not empty words. They are felt by the victims both in Ukraine, where I am honored to be, and around the world," the ICC prosecutor said.
