Bulgaria lifts ban on imports of Ukrainian grain

Bulgaria's parliament has voted to lift the ban on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products after September 15, local media reports.

"Taking into account the solidarity of the Republic of Bulgaria with Ukraine, Bulgaria does not support the extension of the emergency measure banning imports of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine to the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Poland, Hungary, Romania and the Slovak Republic after September 15, 2023," the parliamentary decision reads.

The country's Minister of Agriculture and Food was against lifting the ban, but agreed with the macroeconomic indicators presented to the government.
