Ukraine has been exporting grain through the Croatian port of Rijeka for over a year. During this time, it has managed to export about 100 thousand tons of Ukrainian products. This was reported by Marino Klarić, Head of the Rijeka Port Grain Terminal, in The Guardian.
According to Klarić, starting in May 2022, Ukrainian grain began to arrive at the port of Rijeka, located in northern Croatia, via rail routes passing through Hungary.
During the year, about 100 thousand tons of corn and wheat were exported from Ukrainian stocks. This is only a small part of Ukraine's total production.
At the moment, the port of Rijeka is capable of handling a million tons of grain, but the authorities are working to expand export capacity.
