Director of the Mossad intelligence service David Barnea has expressed concern over Russia's possible sale of modern weapons to Iran, which, in his opinion, "would endanger Israel's existence," The Times of Israel reports.
At the annual conference of the Institute for Counterterrorism Policy, Barnea noted that Iran is going to provide Russia with short- and long-range missiles in addition to UAVs that were sold to the Russian armed forces for use in Ukraine.
According to him, Iran tried to make such deliveries in the context of military operations, but this was prevented. He also expressed concern about what weapons Russia might provide Iran in response.
"We are afraid that the Russians will give the Iranians what they lack in return, modern weapons that will certainly endanger our world and perhaps even our existence here," Barnea said.
