Russia deployed a new base for kamikaze drones in Crimea - Humeniuk

The Russian armed forces in Crimea have deployed a new station to launch Shahed kamikaze drones intended for attacks on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, during a telethon.

This camp was created to reduce the distance that drones have to fly to reach their target in Ukraine.

"They are looking for new tactics to bypass the air defense system of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. And, unfortunately, they do not draw conclusions from the fact that they have already deployed similar bases on the Crimean peninsula, and they had a sad story, but for us it is normal," the official said.

The Shahed drones are flying over the Black Sea to hide their movement and avoid detection.

Humeniuk emphasized: "In fact, the Russians are using the peculiarities of Ukraine's geography to shell our country. They will not get away with it."

She also noted that Russia has already begun producing UAVs on its territory.
