The UN is negotiating with Russian authorities to restore the grain deal: details of the proposal

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sent a letter to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on August 28, offering four conditions for the resumption of the UN-Russia grain deal. This is reported by BILD.

The first condition provides for the cancellation of EU sanctions against Rosselkhozbank and the possibility of circumventing SWIFT restrictions.

The second condition provides for insurance for Russian cargo ships against Ukrainian attacks while sailing in the Black and Azov Seas.

The third condition facilitates the return of Russian assets frozen by European sanctions.

The fourth condition is aimed at allowing Russian ships carrying food and fertilizers to dock in EU ports.

According to BILD, the Russian authorities are considering the UN proposals, but have expressed doubts about the technical feasibility of some of the conditions.
