The administration of President Joe Biden claims that it will be able to secure additional funding for Ukraine, despite opposition from some Republicans in the House of Representatives who previously supported an amendment aimed at ending financial support for Ukraine. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan expressed this position in an interview with CNN.
According to Sullivan, there are influential voices in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, both Republicans and Democrats, who support the continuation of financial assistance to Ukraine.
"We believe that support will be sustained - even though there are dissident voices on the other side, we believe that there is still a strong bipartisan basis of support for our policy toward Ukraine," he emphasized.
The presidential adviser noted that the administration has already conveyed to representatives in Kyiv, as well as to allies and partners, that the United States intends to continue to support Ukraine on a long-term basis. This expresses confidence that the United States will fulfill its obligations as necessary.
Earlier, the media reported that some Republicans intend to more closely monitor financial assistance to Ukraine and reduce its volume.
