The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs denies allegations of supplying military components to Russia and accuses the media of spreading slander. This was announced by representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Wenbin during an information briefing, the Global Times reports.
As a reminder, an article by the British newspaper Telegraph claimed that China was supporting Russia with helicopters, drones, optical sights and important metals used in the defence industry. According to Wang Wenbin, Beijing "opposes false sensationalism and malicious slander".
In addition, the diplomat confirmed China's traditional position on the war, stressing that the country is always focused on reconciliation and dialogue.
"We will continue to play a constructive role in mitigating and cooling the situation. Compared to some countries that are constantly fanning the flames and adding fuel to the fire, China's position is open and straightforward," the Foreign Ministry representative said.
