The Prime Minister of Romania called on Ukraine to officially recognize that Moldovan language does not exist

Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu has called on his Ukrainian colleague Denys Shmyhal to officially recognize the Moldovan language as non-existent. Ciolacu expressed this position at a briefing in Bucharest, where Shmyhal was visiting, Digi24 reports.

"Regarding the problem of the so-called 'Moldovan' language, I recalled the previous request of the Romanian side that the Ukrainian authorities recognize it as non-existent and take appropriate legal and administrative measures. I reminded that Moldova has recently adopted a regulatory act according to which it recognizes Romanian as an official language," the Romanian politician said.

In addition, the Romanian prime minister expressed his concern about the rights of ethnic Romanians in Ukraine and called on Kyiv to take a "more open and engaged" approach to solving issues related to national minorities.

Regarding the export of Ukrainian grain through Romania, Ciolacu assured that Ukraine could count on "full support."
