Yesterday, on August 17, an attempt was made in Kyiv to attack the deputy head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, Yevhen Sokur. The incident occurred in the center of the capital.
This was reported in the telegram channel of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev.
According to him, an attempted assassination of the deputy head of the Tax Service took place yesterday at 07:50 in the city center. The attack was ordered by people who "lost their business" and "went abroad". He added that thanks to the joint actions of the criminal investigation, Yevhen Sokur was saved.
As a result of the detention of the attackers, who testified about the customers, the larger context and motives of the event became known.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, confirmed the information about an attempted assassination attempt on Yevhen Sokur: "I can confirm that the National Police prevented an attack on the Deputy Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine. Criminal investigation operatives worked effectively. The suspects have been detained. The police will provide more information."
