Romania plans to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets. For this purpose, a special regional training center will be established, President Klaus Iohannis announced during the celebration of the Romanian Navy Day.
"We will participate in the training of the Ukrainian military within the framework of the European Union's military assistance. We will host a future regional training center for F-16 pilots, a center that will serve Romanian, allied and Ukrainian pilots equally," the Romanian leader said.
In his statement, Iohannis emphasized the importance of the future regional training center, which will provide training for Romanian, allied and Ukrainian pilots.
The President emphasized that such a step would help strengthen cooperation and support within NATO.
