The diplomatic representation of the Russian Federation in Moldova is decreasing. Yesterday, on August 13, 22 Russian diplomats and other embassy staff left Chisinau. In total, this concerned 45 people.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, 25 people remained in the Russian embassy, which previously employed 80 people, which corresponds to the number of employees in the Moldovan embassy in Moscow. From the beginning of Tuesday, August 15, only up to 10 Russian diplomats and 15 support staff may remain in the Russian Embassy in Chisinau.
This event was confirmed by the independent Belarusian media outlet "Belsat in English" on social media (previously on Twitter), where a video was published showing a large number of people taking their belongings and even pets out of the Russian embassy.
"Employees of the Russian Embassy in Moldova have left Chisinau. The Moldovan authorities decided to reduce the number of embassy staff after discovering that dozens of antennas were placed on the roof of the embassy building," the publication reported.
