The Turkish ship "Sukru Okan" was the object of Russia's provocation in the Black Sea - Ukraine's Foreign Ministry

The official Kyiv authorities expressed outrage over the provocative actions of the Russian Federation against the Turkish civilian ship Sukru Okan, which was heading to the port of Izmail. This statement was published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incident that took place on August 13 in the Black Sea, when the Russian Navy committed provocative actions against the Turkish cargo ship Sukru Okan, which was heading to the port of Izmail.

"The Russian Navy has grossly violated the UN Charter, the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and other international law. Such actions are yet another example of Russia's deliberate policy of creating threats to freedom of navigation and safety of commercial shipping in the Black Sea. We express our support and solidarity with Turkey as our strategic partner and call on the international community to take decisive measures to prevent Russia's actions that prevent the peaceful passage of ships in the Black Sea," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry also emphasizes the need to limit Russia's ability to block international routes in the Black Sea, including access to Ukrainian seaports.

"In this regard, Ukraine calls on its partners to strengthen efforts to preserve the functioning of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which plays a key role in ensuring global food security," the Foreign Ministry added in its statement.

A video has also been posted online showing an alleged inspection team of marines returning to a helicopter from the cargo ship.
