Voting only after the conflict: Danylov explained why Ukraine postpones elections

According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danylov, no one will allow unfair elections to be held in Ukraine. In an interview with Ukrainian Pravda, he emphasized that in a full-scale war, the state will not be able to ensure that all citizens, including the military and refugees, can participate in the electoral process.

"It's difficult for me to imagine how the boys and girls who are near Bakhmut today, who are in other parts of the frontline today, will vote. How can they do it physically? And if they won't vote, then it's unfair. They are defending our country. Should they give up and go somewhere to vote or what? Who can imagine that? And those citizens who are now outside our country, who have temporarily left? There are many questions that need to be answered. No one will allow anyone to hold elections in an unfair way," he said.

As a reminder, Zelensky previously admitted the possibility of holding elections in 2024, but only if the war ends.
