According to the Voice of America, the US Department of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the US security guarantees for Ukraine will remain important regardless of the outcome of the US election.
"We need to secure long-term security agreements that will outlast any administration, any government, both here in the United States and among our allies and partners who have made long-term commitments to Ukraine's security," said State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.
The State Department spokesperson made this statement in response to a question about the possible impact of Donald Trump's presidency on Ukraine's security guarantees.
Miller also emphasized that such obligations will be enshrined in existing interstate agreements regardless of the specific person who holds the post of the US president.
