Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Lukasz Jasina has been suspended and placed on indefinite leave after he demanded an apology from President Volodymyr Zelenskyi for the Volyn crime.

 Lukash Yasina was formally sent on leave, but for an indefinite period.

 Yasina was removed from his duties in connection with his statement on the network, in which he demanded an apology and greater remorse from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi for the Volyn crime.

 The Embassy of Ukraine called this statement "deplorable", and Yasina, according to the radio station, will no longer return to the position of press secretary of the ministry.

 "I take this personally because I'm almost from Volyn and, although my family is not Volyn, I grew up among people who fled from there. I remember a time when this crime was not a problem because it was little known." , Yasina said in an interview with Onet on May 19, answering a question about the approaching anniversary of the Volyn crime.

 "I think that on the Ukrainian side, and I will be very diplomatic here, there is still a lack of understanding of how important this issue is for Poles," Yasina emphasized.

 When asked if President Volodymyr Zelenskyі would apologize for Volyn, he said: "This was not done by the state of Ukraine, but President Zelensky must take responsibility for it."

 "We apologize and ask for an apology - this, in Yasina's opinion, should come from the Ukrainian side. "This formula works very well in the case of Polish-Ukrainian relations, and it is still lacking," he said.

 We will remind that after the Polish MFA representative Lukasz Yasina said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy should apologize to the Poles for Volyn, the response of the Ukrainian ambassador appeared. "Any attempt to impose on the Ukrainian president or on Ukraine what we should do regarding the common past is unacceptable and regrettable," said Vasyl Zvarych.

 Reacting to this, State Secretary of the Office of the President of Poland Malgozata Paprotska said that the Volyn tragedy should not be part of Twitter diplomacy.
