The Verkhovna Rada voted for a bill to establish May 8 as the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939-1945. This was reported in the deputies' corps.

 "May 8 is the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War. Officially! May 9 is Europe Day. The Verkhovna Rada voted for the bill (#9278). 317 People's Deputies voted for it," People's Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko wrote in Telegram.

 People's deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak added in Telegram that "as of today, May 8 is officially a holiday and the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939-1945."

 President Volodymyr Zelenskyі submitted a bill to the Verkhovna Rada establishing May 8 as the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939-1945, and signed a decree establishing May 9 as Europe Day in Ukraine.
