In Italy, damage from floods was estimated at more than 7 billion euros

Recent floods in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna have caused damage totaling more than €7 billion.

This was stated by the deputy governor of the region for civil protection, Irene Priolo, reports Ansa.

"There is no exact estimate yet, but the losses will exceed seven billion," she said.

So far, the government has allocated about two billion euros for flood relief and reconstruction in the northern region.

"The two billion allocated by the government is important and is aimed mainly at business. But the total bill will be much higher, including because we have a lot of damaged infrastructure and an unprecedented number of landslides," Priolo said.
