In Estonia, 95 members of the Riigikogu parliament signed a statement in support of Ukraine's accession to NATO.
This is reported by ERR.
The draft statement was submitted to the parliament by the head of the Riigikogu commission for foreign affairs, Marko Mikkelson.
The document emphasizes that Ukraine's accession to NATO and victory in the war against the Russian Federation is the only way to ensure a rules-based world order, stable peace and security of democratic European states.
The authors of the document emphasize the need to formulate concrete and unambiguous measures at the summit in Vilnius for the rapid integration of Ukraine into NATO and to send Ukraine an invitation to join the Alliance.
At Thursday's meeting, the Riigikogu's committee on foreign affairs will discuss sending the submitted draft statement to the plenary for discussion and voting.
Earlier, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna, said that NATO member states should define concrete steps for Ukraine to join the Alliance.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyі emphasized that Ukraine will not agree to alternative proposals that could replace NATO membership.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, noted that Ukraine will not be satisfied with any other decision of the NATO summit in Vilnius in July, except for real steps regarding its membership in the Alliance.
