The government extended the fixed price of electricity for the population for another month - until the end of May. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Tuesday, April 25, during a government meeting.
"The government continues the preferential price for electricity for the population for one more month," emphasized Shmyhal, quoted by the government's press service.
The regulator approved an increase in electricity tariffs in 2023 for non-household consumers.
And he noted that the issue of revising electricity tariffs for the population is also being considered by the government, among the options for new prices - UAH 2.40 and UAH 2.80 per 1 kW/h.
Earlier, the government indicated that the price of electricity for the population will remain unchanged until the end of the heating season of 2022-23. Until now, the extension of the fixed electricity price for household consumers was provided until April 30, 2023.
Currently, the fixed tariff is:
UAH 1.44/kWh for consumption up to 250 kWh per month for individual household consumers;
UAH 1.68/kWh for consumption over 250 kWh per month for individual household consumers;
1.68 hryvnias/kWh, regardless of the volume of consumption - for collective household consumers, hostels, for legal entities that are owners or balance-keepers of property used for compact settlement of internally displaced persons in terms of meeting the own needs of IDPs, in summer cottages and cottages construction cooperatives. , gardening societies, garage-building cooperatives for technical purposes and lighting of the territory, for religious organizations regarding the use of electrical energy for communal and household needs.
Also, this tariff is valid in multi-apartment residential buildings when electricity is used for technical purposes: operation of individual heating points, boiler rooms, elevators, pumps, intercoms, and lighting of yards, stairs, and license plates.
This price tariff is effective from October 1, 2021.
