The Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary announced that it will ban the import of 25 agricultural products and grains from Ukraine starting Wednesday.
Hirado.hu writes about it.
Hungary, which has already announced a ban on the import of Ukrainian grain, has since Wednesday extended this measure to dozens of agricultural products.
According to the decree published on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, it will not be possible to sell flour, honey, oil and meat from Ukraine on Hungarian territory, except for grain. These restrictions will be in effect until June 30. The measures are explained by the protection of Hungarian farmers and consumers.
At the same time, Hungary does not prohibit the movement of these products on its territory, that is, transit transportation is still allowed, but the relevant authorities will check them at the border, monitor them with the help of electronic devices and patrols.
Carriers who violate the rules can be fined, the fine can even reach the full value of the cargo.
As a reminder, Bulgaria introduced a temporary ban on food imports from Ukraine, with the exception of transit goods.
In recent days, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia have banned the import of Ukrainian agricultural products, in Romania there are calls for this due to the damage to local farmers due to lower prices of Ukrainian products.
