Ukraine and Turkey have reached an agreement on renewing the registration and inspection of vessels arriving to be loaded with Ukrainian grain within the so-called "grain corridor".
Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said this after a meeting with the Minister of National Defense of Turkey, Hulusi Akar.
Kubrakov reminded that since April 10, Russia stopped registering the new incoming fleet to participate in the Black Sea Grain Initiative and refused to work according to the plans of Ukrainian ports.
This made it impossible to draw up inspection plans and effectively stopped the entry of new vessels under the "grain agreement". For April 17-18, no inspection plan was drawn up and no inspection was conducted in the territorial waters of Turkey.
On April 18, the Ukrainian side offered to conduct at least two inspections of the outgoing and two incoming fleets. This proposal was also supported by the Turkish side, but it could not be implemented due to Russia's position, Kubrakov noted.
Russia demanded to regulate the activity of Ukrainian ports by determining the vessels that can participate in the grain initiative. Thus, Russia violated the official procedures of the joint coordination center and the terms of the "grain agreement", the vice-prime minister noted.
Demands to control and interfere in the work of Ukrainian ports are unacceptable for Ukraine, Kubrakov emphasized.
Despite the fact that court inspections will resume, Ukraine continues working consultations with the UN and Turkey on ways to ensure the full implementation of the "grain agreement" regarding compliance with the obligations of all parties and the procedures of the joint coordination center.
Kubrakov's visit to Turkey took place against the background of the statement of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine regarding Russia's blocking of the "grain agreement".
