The United States, Japan and South Korea will practice anti-missile defense in joint exercises

Today, April 17, the navies of the United States, South Korea, and Japan began joint missile defense exercises in the international waters of the East Sea.

 This is reported by Yonhap.

It is noted that the exercises are being conducted against the background of the growing threat from the DPRK.

Three destroyers are participating in the exercises: the South Korean Yulgok Yi I, the American USS Benfold and the Japanese JS Atago. All of them are equipped with the American Aegis systems, which are an integrated network of means of detecting and defeating missiles

During the exercises, the countries will practice identifying and tracking targets and exchanging information in real time.

It will be recalled that on April 16, the border patrol of South Korea opened warning fire at a North Korean boat that crossed the sea border of the country.
