Ukraine began to export electricity to European countries

On Monday, April 17, Ukraine began exporting electricity to three countries. The press service of Ukrenergo emphasized that there is currently a sufficient power reserve in the system.

So, as of today, the export of electricity to Slovakia has started (200 MW every hour), and the export to Poland (75 MW every hour) and Moldova (99-134 MW at different hours) continues. Insignificant imports continue from Slovakia (2-4 MW at different times).

Energy experts noted that since water harvesting continues in Ukraine, the water level is significantly higher than in previous years. "Ukrhydroenergo" hydropower stations work around the clock and to minimize the consequences of floods, they carry out controlled discharges of water, which allows to reduce the level of the Kyiv and Kaniv reservoirs.

At the same time, the press service of Ukrenergo reported that the current difficult situation with energy supply remains along the front line. As a result of damage to networks by Russian shelling, Kherson and part of the region were temporarily cut off, but power was restored.

It should be noted that power engineers continue to work on the restoration of the power system after massive attacks by the Russians. The priority is to restore power supply reliability.
