Canada will rely on Ukraine's position regarding China's "peace plan" to end the war unleashed by Russia.

Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Larisa Galadza stated this in an interview with "Interfax-Ukraine".

According to the ambassador, Canada supports the position of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who needs the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

"As I understand it, President Zelenskyi is ready to have a direct conversation with President Xi Jinping about peace in Ukraine. We will carefully monitor this and rely on Ukraine's position regarding this plan," she said.

She added that Zelenskyi's peace formula contains elements of a sustainable and just world, and Canada supported these principles in a UN General Assembly resolution in February.

"And we didn't just approve these principles. We also worked hard diplomatically so that as many countries as possible supported them," Galadza added.

It will be recalled that in February, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the so-called "peace plan" with its ideas on the settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine. It consists of 12 points and calls for a ceasefire and renewed talks, but does not include concrete steps.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi believes that China's so-called "peace plan" has points that can be worked with, although he does not agree with "some opinions".
