The German government handed over another package of military aid to Ukraine. This is stated on the website of the German Ministry of Defense.
In the list of aid sent from Germany:
1 DACHS armored engineering vehicle based on the German Leopard 2 tank;
8 Zetros trucks;
8 mobile antenna systems;
8 reconnaissance drones;
23,520 40-millimeter ammunition.
"Funds for the modernization initiative amount to 2.2 billion euros for 2023. Funds should be directed, first of all, to support Ukraine. At the same time, they will be used to finance Germany's increased mandatory contributions to the European Peace Fund (EPF), which, in turn, can be used to reimburse EU member states for the costs of providing support to Ukraine," says the website of the German Ministry of Defense.
Note that Germany has already handed over 4 DACHS armored vehicles, 52 Zetros trucks, 34 mobile antennas, and 26 reconnaissance drones. The total number of 40 mm cartridges is 83,520.
In particular, in March 2023, as part of the previous aid package, Germany transferred 18 Leopard 2A6 tanks with ammunition and 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles with ammunition to Ukraine, as well as:
two armored repair and evacuation vehicles for Bergepanzer 3 armored vehicles;
two WISENT 1 demining tanks;
24 more Zetros trucks, in addition to the 28 transferred earlier;
another 40,000 first-aid kits, in addition to the 120,000 previously handed over;
103 thousand turnstiles.
In April 2023, the German government announced that it would provide Ukraine with investments totaling 221 million euros ($242 million). They apply to 11 projects in Ukraine by German companies.
In early March 2023, Germany handed over bridge-building machines to Ukraine, which combat units use to overcome rivers, anti-tank ditches and other obstacles. Biber can deploy and retract a 22-meter bridge in a matter of minutes. The crossing weighs about 9.94 tons and can withstand up to about 55 tons.
