The Rivne City Council deprived the UOC MP of the right to use the land.

Voting took place at an extraordinary session on April 10.

Deputies of the Rivne City Council voted to terminate the right to use land plots owned by the city for the UOC MP. It is currently unknown how many plots and which temples we are talking about.

The decision was made at an extraordinary session of the Rivne City Council on Monday, April 10, the press service reported. According to the decision, the city council terminated the right to use the immovable property of the Rivne city community for religious organizations whose management center is located in Russia.

"We supported the appeal to the state authorities, according to the competence regarding the inadmissibility of the further existence and activity of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine)," the message reads.

The mayor of Rivne Oleksandr Tretyak also commented on the decision. He explained that it is unacceptable that "during the war, a church that blesses Russian soldiers for killing Ukrainians was functioning in the country." However, he did not explain exactly how this decision will be implemented.

We will remind you that the Khmelnytskyi City Council made a similar decision earlier. Then the mayor of the city, Oleksandr Simchyshyn, explained that the city council would return the right to use land plots to communities on the condition that they transfer to the OCU.
