Romanian farmers renewed protests over Ukrainian grain

Farmers in Romania renewed protests over the import of Ukrainian grain, which led to a decrease in the prices of their products.

 This is reported by Digi24.

The protesters are moving with their tractors and other agricultural machinery to the places where they have planned actions - in particular, to the checkpoints on the border, which are threatening to be blocked.

In Bucharest, about 200 farmers will gather in front of the representative office of the European Commission to express their indignation at the small amount of compensation - "the lowest in the region".

At the end of last week, the European Commission announced the preparation of the next compensation package for European farmers affected by the export of agricultural products from Ukraine; a package of approximately 75 million euros should be announced in mid-April.

As you know, the export of Ukrainian grain also caused dissatisfaction in Poland and Bulgaria, in Poland the situation led to the resignation of the Minister of Agriculture.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced after his visit to Warsaw that the dispute had been resolved.
