President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a declaration with the President of Latvia Egils Levits, which, among other things, talks about support for the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.

This is reported by Zelenskyі's Telegram.

"We signed a joint declaration with Egils Levits, which testifies to Latvia's support for full-fledged European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine. Only with Ukraine in its composition will the European project become truly perfect. Only with Ukraine in its composition will NATO become a truly strong defender of the peoples of Europe and all our common values," Zelenskyi said.

As noted in the declaration, Latvia will continue to promote strong and effective political and material support to Ukraine from the EU and the Alliance, aimed at ensuring the ability of the Ukrainian state to effectively defend its territories on land, at sea and in the air.

The declaration states that Latvian governmental and non-governmental sectors will support Ukraine as long as necessary and will continue to provide strong military, technical, defense and humanitarian support to Ukraine.

"The Republic of Latvia supports Ukraine in becoming a part of the North Atlantic Alliance as soon as conditions permit; Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia express their readiness to hold bilateral consultations on Ukraine's security issues before joining NATO," the declaration reads.

The presidents also emphasized the need to create a legal framework for the use of frozen and immobilized Russian assets to support the recovery of Ukraine and to pay reparations.

In addition, the presidents reaffirmed their commitment to prosecuting those responsible for war crimes and other serious crimes committed in connection with Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, and support for the establishment of a special international tribunal to ensure accountability for the crime of aggression.
