NATO assessed the scale of the new offensive of Russian troops in Ukraine

NATO sees a new offensive of Russian troops in Ukraine, especially near Bakhmut. The occupiers throw a lot of forces and means against the Ukrainian defense lines.

This was stated by the Secretary General of the Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, in an interview with LRT.

"We are already seeing new offensives by Russian troops, especially in the Bakhmut area, where there are fierce battles and heavy losses," he said in response to questions about the scale of the new Russian offensive.

Stoltenberg noted that Russia is throwing troops against Ukrainian defense lines, "which have not been seen since the First World War."

"We see that Russia is constantly preparing for an even bigger war, new offensive operations - mobilizing more troops, acquiring more weapons, increasing its production. We also see how it is strengthening ties with other authoritarian regimes, such as Iran and North Korea Our goal is to provide Ukraine with the strength and power necessary to defeat and repel the Russian invaders," Stoltenberg noted.

We will remind, according to the GUR of the Ministry of Defense, new offensive actions of the occupying forces have been ongoing since the beginning of February, the Russian troops have been active in 4-5 directions.

At the same time, the most difficult situation remains around Bakhmut, where the enemy has thrown the most prepared assault units and is trying to achieve success with an advantage in the number of forces.
