President Volodymyr Zelenskyi expressed his condolences to the Greek people after the large-scale railway disaster near the city of Larisa.
"My sincere condolences to the President of Greece and the Greek people in connection with the death of people as a result of the railway accident in the north of Greece. The people of Ukraine share the pain of the families of the victims. We wish a speedy recovery to all the victims," Zelenskyі wrote on Twitter.
The death toll from a collision between a passenger and freight train in Greece rose to 38 on Wednesday afternoon.
It will be recalled that a train carrying about 350 passengers collided with a freight train late on Tuesday near the city of Larisa. This is the largest train accident in Greece in a decade.
It is not yet known what caused the collision.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced a three-day national mourning for the victims of the railway disaster.
