US President Joe Biden announced additional aid to Ukraine in the amount of half a billion dollars during an unannounced visit to Ukraine on Monday, CNN reports.

 In a joint speech with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyі, Biden said that the package will include more military equipment, including artillery ammunition, more javelins and howitzers.

 Zelenskyі said that he and Biden talked about "long-range weapons and those weapons that can still be delivered to Ukraine, even if they were not delivered before."

 In his speech, Biden talked about the resilience of the Ukrainian resistance. "A year from now, Kyiv will stand. And Ukraine will stand. Democracy will stand," Biden said.

 US President Joe Biden arrived in Kyiv. His visit was unannounced and is his first trip to the country since the PF invasion began almost a year ago.

 The beginning of the visit takes place against the background of the air alert in Ukraine.
